PUBLIC NOTICES
The City of Los Angeles Elections Division, in conjunction with the West L.A. Neighborhood Council, will hold elections for all 11 seats on the WLANC  Board of Directors on Sunday, April 11, 2010 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm.

The Candidate Filing Period will commence on Monday January 11, 2010 and close on Wednesday, February 10, 2010.
The seats to be elected are:
  Three (3) Business Directors
  Two  (2) At-Large Directors
  Four (4) Zone Directors
One (1) Organizational Director
Four (4) At Large
One (1) Educational/Religious

This Month at YOUR Library
Children's Programs
 
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday-GAB (Grandparents and books) Storytelling. Trained volunteers read to children of all ages. See reverse side for specific times.
Tuesdays @ 10:00am-Preschool Storytime. Enjoy stories and songs with the Children's Librarian. Recommended for children 3-5.
Thursdays @ 4:15pm-Storytime & Craft.  Read stories, sing songs and make a craft in this interactive storytime. For children of all ages.
Tuesday, December 1 @ 10:15am- Music Treasures with Melissa Green. Strum along and sing to upbeat, folksy-pop original and traditional songs and stories.
 
Teen Programs
 
Saturday, December 5 @ 2:00pm-Student Smart Seminar: Improve Your Study Skills.This Study Skills session will not only give you guidelines to improve your study habits, but will also feature a practice study session so that you can perfect your skills with an instructor.
Saturday, December 5 @ 3:30pm -Teen Council Meeting. Voice your opinions about Teen Programs. Have a say about what materials and programs the library offers to teens.
Saturday, December 12 @ 3:30pm- Teen Holiday "Wrap N Roll" Craft Workshop. Come have fun and learn to create this centuries' old Victorian holiday favor.

Saturday, December 5 @ 10:30am-How to Cope with Holiday Stress. Exploring the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Presented by Kumiko Yamamoto, Yo San University. 
Saturday, December12 @ 10:00am-3:00pm-Used Book Sale. Presented by the Friends of the Library. Become a member of the Friends and have access to the books starting at 9:30am!
Tuesday, December 22 @ 1:00pm-Holiday Movie Matinee! Enjoy an afternoon screening of the classic holiday movie A Christmas Carol.

The Neighborhood council has set up an e mail address to report all graffiti within our district.

If you see any graffiti, please send an e mail, and a picture if possible, to:
graffitiwla@aol.com

Our goal is to remove and catalog the tagging within 48 hours of the report.
